Running a creative business while raising kids, chasing big dreams, and building something that actually supports your life (not just your workload) isn’t easy… but it is worth it.
I’ve been running Studio West Design Co for seven years now. We’ve worked with some of the best clients out there, built hundreds of brands, launched websites and campaigns I’m insanely proud of, and grown a badass all-women team I’d go to battle for. But somewhere in the mix of all that success, I knew I wanted something different.
Something more intentional.
Something that didn’t ask me to be online 24/7.
Something that let my work support my life, NOT consume it.
So here’s what that looks like right now, in real time.
A Business Owner Working Part-Time, By Design
I’m currently working part-time hours in my business—and not because I’ve outsourced everything or checked out, but because I’m finally creating space to be the mom and creative human I want to be. I have our kids home with me Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and I guard those days fiercely.
Our entire team takes every Friday off for the summer. We call them Summer Fridays, and no… we don’t make exceptions. We believe rest is productive, and creativity needs room to breathe.
I didn’t start this business to work 24/7.
I started it to build freedom, flexibility, and fulfillment, and that’s exactly what we’re creating here.
Chasing Dreams Outside the Client Work
What you might not see on Instagram is that I’m also finally pursuing some of my own long-standing dreams that have taken the backseat for too long:
There’s a power in giving yourself permission to pivot, evolve, and expand. I’m finally stepping into that.
Studio West Design Co is Nearly Booked Through 2025
While I’ve scaled back my personal hours, Studio West is still going full force. Our team is incredible, and we’re booking out fast.
We’ll be closing client intake at the end of August, so if you’ve been thinking about working with us – this is your moment. We’re not here to do templated branding or churn out content. We build from the ground up, with strategy, soul, and a whole lot of intention.
If you want a partner who understands how to balance bold vision with real life, let’s talk.
A Sneak Peek at What’s Coming: 2026 SWDC Merch
One of the projects closest to my heart? SWDC merch. And this time, I’m not letting it sit on the backburner.
This merch isn’t just cute (though it is). It’s a whole mood—made for creatives, entrepreneurs, work-from-homers, and rebels with a vision.
Here’s what’s coming in 2026:
The vibe? Bold, intentional, slightly unhinged (in the best way).
Doing Business Differently—On Purpose
I’m not interested in pretending I have it all figured out.
But I am committed to building a business that’s rooted in freedom, family, and fire.
Whether you’re a fellow founder, a mom navigating work-life chaos, or a dreamer waiting for permission to do things differently … THIS IS YOUR SIGN.
You don’t have to build it their way.
You can build it your way.
And it might just be better than you imagined.
